Job Vacancy – PGT Geography Teacher
Doon International School is looking to hire a PGT Geography Teacher for our school in Gurdaspur, Punjab 143521. The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive Geography education at the senior secondary level and ensuring strong academic performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach Geography to Classes XI–XII as per CBSE curriculum
• Prepare lesson plans covering Physical Geography, Human Geography, and Geographical Skills
• Train students in map work, topographical analysis, and data interpretation
• Conduct project guidance and field-based learning activities
• Prepare students for board examinations with structured assessments and revision plans
• Maintain practical files, records, and performance reports
• Encourage analytical thinking and environmental awareness
• Participate in academic meetings and school events
Role-Specific Skills Required (Geography Expertise):
• Strong conceptual knowledge of physical and human geography
• Proficiency in map reading, cartography, and GIS basics
• Ability to teach data analysis, statistics, and geographical case studies
• Experience with CBSE board exam pattern and evaluation standards
• Fieldwork coordination and project mentoring skills
• Effective classroom management and communication abilities
Qualification & Experience:
Minimum Qualification: Master’s Degree in Geography
Professional Qualification: B.El.Ed or relevant teaching qualification
Experience: Minimum 5 years
Requirements:
• Punctual, responsible, and professional approach
• Good communication skills (English preferred)
• Ability to handle senior secondary classes independently
• Willingness to attend interview, demo class, and probation period
Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000 per month (based on qualification and experience)
