Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library.
• Organize, catalogue, and maintain books, journals, digital resources, and other learning materials.
• Issue and receive library books while maintaining accurate records.
• Assist students and teachers in locating books and reference materials.
• Encourage reading habits by organizing book fairs, reading sessions, storytelling activities, and literary events.
• Maintain a quiet, welcoming, and student-friendly library environment.
• Recommend new books and educational resources based on curriculum requirements.
• Manage library inventory and ensure proper care of library resources.
• Coordinate with school management and faculty to support academic and co-curricular activities.
• Follow school policies, schedules, and administrative guidelines.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of library management systems and cataloguing practices.
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to promote reading culture and information literacy among students.
• Good communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Familiarity with digital libraries, e-books, and library management software will be an added advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented attitude.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university.

Professional Qualification

Candidates with any of the following qualifications will be preferred:

• B.Lib. (Bachelor of Library Science)
• M.Lib. (Master of Library Science)

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Librarian, preferably in a school or educational institution.
