HIRING: HOSTEL MESS MANAGER

Sunbeam Lahartara, Varanasi is inviting applications for the position of Hostel Mess Manager at our campus in Shivpurwa, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh – 221002.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the hostel mess, ensuring the timely preparation and service of hygienic, nutritious, and balanced meals.
• Plan weekly and monthly menus in coordination with school management, hostel authorities, and nutrition requirements.
• Supervise kitchen staff, cooks, helpers, and housekeeping personnel to maintain smooth mess operations.
• Ensure high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety in compliance with institutional guidelines.
• Monitor inventory, procure food supplies, maintain stock records, and minimize food wastage through efficient resource management.
• Inspect the quality of raw materials, prepared food, kitchen equipment, and dining facilities regularly.
• Maintain records related to purchases, inventory, vendor coordination, meal planning, and daily mess operations.
• Address feedback and concerns from hostel students and staff to continuously improve food quality and service.
• Coordinate with school management, hostel wardens, vendors, and support staff for seamless hostel mess administration.
• Participate in meetings, inspections, audits, and other institutional activities as required.

Requirements

• Punctual, responsible, organized, and professional attitude.
• Good communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Strong knowledge of hostel mess administration, food safety standards, inventory management, vendor coordination, kitchen supervision, budgeting, and housekeeping operations.
• Ability to manage teams, maintain operational records, and ensure excellent service quality.
• Proficiency in MS Office, basic computer operations, inventory management, and record-keeping will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to attend the interview, practical assessment (if applicable),and probation period.

Qualification & Experience

• Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's Degree.
• Professional Qualification: Diploma or certification in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Catering, Food Production, or Food Safety will be an added advantage.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in hostel mess management, catering, hospitality, or institutional food service operations.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: ₹15,000 – ₹25,000 per month (based on qualification and experience).
• Benefits as per school policy.
