Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and student-oriented SST Teacher to teach Social Studies at the primary level. The ideal candidate should be able to make learning engaging, interactive, and meaningful while developing students’ understanding of history, geography, civics, culture, and society.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging SST lessons as per the prescribed curriculum.

Teach fundamental concepts of history, geography, civics, and social awareness.

Use innovative teaching strategies, activity-based learning, projects, maps, charts, and digital resources.

Develop students’ critical thinking, observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and teaching-learning materials.

Assess students’ academic progress and provide constructive feedback.

Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Encourage students to develop environmental awareness, civic responsibility, and respect for cultural diversity.

Maintain academic records and communicate students’ progress to parents and school authorities.

Participate in school events, assemblies, meetings, training sessions, and other academic activities.

Qualifications and Skills

Graduate in a relevant discipline; B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. preferred or as per applicable school norms.

Prior experience teaching SST at the primary level will be an advantage.

Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in activity-based, experiential, and child-centred teaching methods.

Basic computer skills and familiarity with digital teaching tools.

A positive attitude, creativity, patience, and a commitment to students’ holistic development.
