Key Responsibilities

• Identify students who require additional learning support and assess their educational needs.

• Develop Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) according to students' abilities and learning requirements.

• Provide specialised instruction using appropriate teaching strategies and learning materials.

• Support students with learning difficulties and developmental or other special educational needs.

• Monitor individual progress and maintain confidential assessment records.

• Collaborate with subject teachers to adapt classroom activities and teaching methods.

• Communicate with parents and school staff regarding students' progress and support plans.

• Encourage independence, confidence, social interaction, and overall development.

Qualifications & Professional Skills

• Relevant qualification in Special Education, such as B.Ed. Special Education or an equivalent recognised qualification.

• Valid RCI registration, where applicable to the role.

• Understanding of inclusive education, differentiated instruction, and individual learning plans.

• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and students.

• Previous experience in a school or special education setting will be preferred.
