Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in conducting science experiments and practical demonstrations.

• Arrange laboratory apparatus, chemicals, specimens, and other materials before classes.

• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper storage of materials.

• Update stock registers, inventory records, and laboratory documentation.

• Follow safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness in the laboratory.

• Guide students in the safe handling of laboratory equipment under teacher supervision.

• Report damaged instruments, shortages, and maintenance requirements to the concerned authority.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate or diploma qualification in Science or a relevant technical discipline is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and practical procedures.

• Understanding of laboratory safety and material-handling practices.

• Basic computer skills for maintaining records and inventory.

• Good organisational skills, discipline, and attention to detail.

• Previous experience as a Lab Assistant in a school or educational institution will be an advantage.
