SCHOOL LIBRARIAN – LIBRARY MANAGEMENT & READING DEVELOPMENT

Paras International Public School (CBSE), Dehradun, is looking for an organised and knowledgeable Librarian to manage library resources, promote reading habits, and support students and teachers in accessing educational materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the daily operations of the school library and maintain an organised collection of books.

• Catalogue, classify, issue, and receive books and other learning resources.

• Maintain library registers, membership records, and book inventories.

• Assist students and teachers in locating suitable books and reference materials.

• Encourage reading habits through reading sessions, book reviews, and library activities.

• Recommend new books, magazines, and educational resources based on academic requirements.

• Ensure proper care, arrangement, and preservation of library materials.

• Maintain a peaceful and disciplined library environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science (B.Lib./M.Lib.) preferred.

• Knowledge of library classification, cataloguing, and circulation procedures.

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with library management software.

• Good communication and organisational abilities.

• Interest in books, reading promotion, and student development.

• Previous experience as a school librarian will be an advantage.
