LAB ASSISTANT – SCIENCE LABORATORY SUPPORT

WORK RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist science teachers during practical classes and laboratory demonstrations.

• Prepare laboratory equipment, apparatus, and materials before practical sessions.

• Maintain laboratory registers, stock records, and equipment inventories.

• Ensure proper cleaning, organisation, and maintenance of laboratory facilities.

• Handle and store chemicals, glassware, and instruments safely.

• Monitor laboratory supplies and inform the concerned staff about shortages.

• Follow safety procedures and ensure students use laboratory equipment responsibly.

• Support teachers in setting up experiments and practical activities.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate or diploma qualification in Science or a relevant subject preferred.

• Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, materials, and safety procedures.

• Good organisational and record-keeping skills.

• Ability to assist teachers and manage laboratory resources efficiently.

• Responsible, attentive, and systematic approach to work.

• Previous experience as a school or science laboratory assistant will be an advantage.
