About the Role
Karatians School is looking for a dedicated and qualified Special Educator to support students with special needs. The candidate will work closely with teachers, parents, and the school management to create inclusive learning experiences and help children achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and assess students with special learning needs.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
• Provide specialized instruction and remedial support to children with learning difficulties, developmental delays, or disabilities.
• Use appropriate teaching strategies, aids, and techniques suited to individual needs.
• Collaborate with class teachers to adapt curriculum and classroom activities for inclusive education.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and interventions.
• Counsel and guide parents on supporting their child’s learning and development.
• Conduct awareness sessions and workshops for teachers on inclusive practices.
• Ensure a supportive, patient, and encouraging learning environment.
• Coordinate with external specialists or therapists when required.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Special Education (B.Ed. Special Education / M.Ed. Special Education) from a recognized university.
• RCI registration preferred.
• Prior experience as a Special Educator in a school will be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of different learning disabilities and inclusive education practices.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and specialists.
• Creative and adaptive teaching approach.
• Passion for supporting children with special needs.
